David Ringsell – Technical Training Consultant
I am a highly experienced technical trainer and software developer, who has been working in IT for the last 15 years. My areas of expertise include Microsoft Visual Studio.Net and SQL Server. I have an extensive track record of delivering technical training to large and small companies throughout the UK. As a consultant, I advise software departments when they are managing the transition to new technologies. This has helped them decide on the best technologies to use. An appropriate architecture can then be designed.

As a senior software developer I have built both Windows and Web enterprise applications. I have also lectured at North London University in Computer Science.

Training With A Difference
What makes a good course? Perhaps a course is designed to include just the topics you need. Or has plenty of opportunity to ask questions of the trainer.

To make the training really effective, I use accelerated learning methods. You can employ your personal learning style to learn in the most successful way for you. Or you can create a Mind Maps as a fast and effective way to summarise new information. You will avoid that feeling of information overload that you can have after a course. How about using memory techniques that mean you can easily recall what you have learnt.

Customised Training
Why not design your own course? Training can then be customised to your needs. This could be based on a development project you are working on. We start with a technical conversation about your requirements and then agree a course outline. The outline could be based on selecting chapters from existing courses - have a look at the course outlines available from the Courses menu. The training you then receive is focused on what is really relevant to you.

Consultancy To Solve Problems
Do you have to overcome specific technical hurdles? Or do you make decisions on which technology or approach to use? Or do you need an architectural overview? Together we can solve these problems.

The Technologies
I work with Microsoft Development Technologies. This includes all versions of Visual Studio.Net and SQL Server up to 2005 and beyond. Services are provided on both web development, with ASP.Net, and desktop development, with Windows Forms. Data access is covered using ADO.Net and XML. The programming languages used are Visual Basic and C#. As far as SQL Server is concerned, both database development and database administration are covered.

Courseware Development
To support the delivery of training courses, I write custom courseware. This includes slide packs, sample applications and practical exercises. These can then be provided to delegates for use during and after a training course.

Background
I am an MCSD.Net/MCAD/MCT accredited technical trainer, developer and consultant. Particular experience in Microsoft development technologies including Visual Studio.Net. I have also given regular talks to members of the Visual Basic Users Group (VBUG) on programming techniques in .Net. I have worked on a range of development projects, including pharmaceuticals and online music distribution.
